Commencement is held outdoors, rain or shine, UNLESS dangerous weather (lightning, thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy rain) is occurring or imminent.
If severe weather conditions are present or are threatening on Sunday morning, a decision to delay Commencement will be made by 9:00 a.m. Commencement may be delayed by an hour or two if it appears the weather threat may be short lived. In that event, email and text messages will be sent to all graduates to alert them of the delay.
If dangerous weather or the potential for it still exists at 12:00 p.m., the president will pronounce a blanket conferring of degrees and graduates will be asked to pick up their diplomas from Green Drawing by no later than 2 p.m.
